What we will not pretend a review said
A nail salon searching Setmore reviews usually wants a verdict. We will not invent one. No star score, no “4.6 from 2,000 owners,” and no customer quote that was not on a page we fetched. Their own pricing page prints one testimonial, attributed there to Deborah: she recommends Setmore as a scheduling app that simplified scheduling. That is their page, not an independent audit. Treat it as marketing on the pricing URL.
The dollars and the seat rule are the part a review cannot quietly change. Those are on Setmore pricing and inside Setmore vs Bukkii Calendar.
Questions a nail salon should ask of a Setmore review
- How many staff calendars did that shop have? Free is up to 4 users at $0 per user per month. A solo tech and a four-chair Saturday crew are different products on that card.
- Did they count a front-desk profile with no login? Setmore’s FAQ says each staff calendar counts even without login permission.
- Were they on Free, or on Pro’s per-user price? Pro says unlimited users and still bills per user. The Pro card prints $12 and $5 per user per month, with annual-billing helper copy at $5.
- Did the review praise the booking page, or the phone? Live Receptionist is a separate plan on their pricing page, US only, with no dollar on that row.
- Did “Google” mean a booking button, a review request, or a listing they already had? The pricing page lists Reserve with Google in the brand comparison and does not print a separate price for it.
If a review never names the chair count, it is a story about someone else’s meter. The hub that puts Setmore next to Mangomint is nail salon booking software pricing.
What the product page actually promises
Free, up to 4 users, lists a branded booking page, payments, email reminders and confirmations, mobile apps, and team tools. Pro adds SMS reminders, recurring appointments, 2-way calendar sync, branding removal, and the other Pro bullets on that page. A review that says “text reminders stopped” or “the fifth person changed the bill” is talking about those lines. A review that says “it would not ring our Google number” is talking about a different product. Setmore’s booking page is not an AI receptionist.
The free-cap page is Setmore’s free plan. If the review is really “we outgrew the seats,” the decision page is a Setmore alternative.
Where Bukkii fits, and where it does not
Bukkii Calendar is $20/month with unlimited staff, unlimited customers, and Google Reserve. It does not answer the phone, and it does not claim Setmore’s payment stack, classes, or 2-way calendar sync. Keep Setmore when the review you trust is “the floor already knows this book.” Get Calendar — $20/mo when the complaint in the reviews is the per-user meter and you want a public book plus the Maps button.
If the review is “nobody picks up during a fill,” leave the calendar argument. That is AIVA at $200 one-time. Get AIVA — $200. The phone compare stays on Setmore vs an AI receptionist.
Nail-menu context: nail salon software and nail salon appointment software. The appointment label beyond nails is salon appointment software.

Two offers: AIVA on the phone, Calendar on the book
The calendar and the receptionist solve different leaks. Buy the one you are missing, or buy both. Neither is a footnote. Calendar does not answer the phone.
AIVA — the phone layer — $200 one-time
AIVA is the AI receptionist for inbound calls. She answers the shop number, books the service, and texts the appointment. $200 one-time. No monthly plan fee. No free trial. Get AIVA — $200. Hear her at (215) 791-6766.
Calendar — the booking layer — $20/month
Calendar is the booking website plus Google Reserve — the Book Online button on Google Maps. $20/month. Unlimited staff. Unlimited customers. It does not answer the phone. Choose it when the public book and Google are what you need, and you are keeping the checkout you already have. Get Calendar — $20/mo. Both cards are on pricing.
FAQ
Does this page rate Setmore with stars?
No. We do not reprint a star average. We did not load a review marketplace on September 22, 2026. The pricing facts are from setmore.com/pricing that day: Free is $0 per user per month up to 4 users, and Pro is still priced per user.
What should a nail salon look for in a Setmore review?
Chair count, whether a no-login staff calendar was counted, whether the shop was on Free or Pro, and whether the complaint is the booking page or the phone. Setmore’s FAQ says each staff calendar counts as a user even without login permission.
Is Setmore’s booking page an AI receptionist?
No. Live Receptionist is listed on their pricing page as a separate plan, US only, with no dollar on that row. Bukkii Calendar also does not answer the phone. AIVA is the phone layer at $200 one-time.
When do reviews point at Bukkii Calendar?
When the complaint is a per-user bill and the shop wants a booking website plus Google Reserve. Calendar is $20 per month with unlimited staff and unlimited customers. It does not replace a review of Setmore’s payments or classes, and it does not answer calls.
Can I keep Setmore?
Yes. If the floor already trusts that book and the seat count fits, keep it. We do not claim native two-way sync into Setmore.
