Common questions

Any iPad (iPadOS 14+) or Android tablet (Android 9+) with Wi-Fi. We recommend a 10.2" iPad ($329 at Apple) with a wall mount or a counter stand. The Bukkii Check-in App is a Progressive Web App — no App Store install required. Just open the URL we give you in Safari/Chrome and add to home screen.
Phone number, three-digit confirmation. Customer types their phone, the tablet shows the last 4 digits matching a CRM record, and asks them to confirm "Lisa T.?" If yes, they're checked in. If no match, the tablet asks for first name and they're added as a new customer.
Yes — that's a primary use case. The tablet shows estimated wait time (based on actual queue position + average service duration), the customer confirms, and AIVA assigns the next available tech with the right skill. The tech gets a push: "Lisa walked in for a gel mani — your chair, 12 min."
If a customer with a scheduled appointment checks in, the tablet greets them by name, confirms the booked tech and time, and pings the tech: "Lisa is here for her 1:30 PM gel mani." If they're early, the tablet shows their wait time.
Optionally, you can mount a second screen (TV in the waiting area) showing the current queue: "Now serving: Lisa with Tina · Next: Mai with Tony (8 min wait)." Updates in real-time. Customer privacy: only first name + last initial.
Yes — at checkout (separate from check-in). After service, customer taps the tablet to pay; default tip presets are 18% / 20% / 25% / custom. Funds go to your Stripe account, then split per your tip-distribution rules.
