This is not a rip of Mangomint’s calendar
Mangomint is salon booking software and POS in one stack. Owners type “mangomint pricing” or “mangomint booking” when they want a staff calendar, online booking, the register, and a way to close the ticket. That job is real. A four-chair nail salon can live on that book all week: gel, dip, fill, acrylic, pedi, the Saturday art slot that only Tina can do.
The leak is not the booking widget. The leak is the line that rings while both hands are in product. The caller wants a fill on Monday. Voicemail does not write it. Nail salon scheduling software only helps the people who already opened the page. Everyone else taps the next shop. Searching a Mangomint alternative because of that scene is the wrong fork — unless the alternative is a phone layer, not a second POS.
Same honesty if you run Setmore, Vagaro, or Booksy, or you typed the brand because a review site put it next to Appointy. POS names are bait in this article. The conversion is AIVA on the line. We are not pretending to be Mangomint, and we are not asking you to rip the book you already trained the floor on. The Setmore version of this stack is on Setmore vs an AI phone receptionist.
What Mangomint is actually selling (quote the live page)
We fetched mangomint.com/pricing on September 17, 2026. Numbers below are copied from that page. Nothing else is invented.
| Line on the live page | Published price | What that page states |
|---|---|---|
| Users | $120/mo base + $10 per user | Their FAQ: anyone with a profile counts as a user — staff and front desk included. |
| Locations | $120/mo each | Printed under Locations on the same page. |
| Phone add-on | $70/mo per line | “Call and text your clients from one number on any device.” FAQ: in-app calls and texting. |
| Payroll | $50/mo + $8 per worker | Pay the team, sync with QuickBooks, file taxes per location — as they list it. |
| Marketing | Starting at $30/mo | Campaigns and automated flows. They say they have a number of marketing plans from that floor. |
| In-person payments | 2.45% + 15¢ | Per successful transaction. Large businesses may qualify for custom rates — their copy. |
| Virtual payments | 2.90% + 30¢ | Per successful transaction. |
Source: mangomint.com/pricing, fetched September 17, 2026. The same page says no contracts, a free trial is available, and you can cancel anytime. That is Mangomint’s policy, not ours. If their markup or a later screenshot disagrees with this fetch, trust the live page — we will not invent a cleaner table than they print.
Mangomint Phone is $70/mo per line. That is not AIVA.
The live pricing page lists Phone as an add-on: $70 per month per line, call and text from one number. Their FAQ repeats $70 per month for in-app calls and texting. We do not invent minutes, AI answering, or a booking claim they do not print next to that row.
That sentence is the whole point of this compare. Mangomint knows the calendar is not the shop phone. Their add-on, as they describe it, is a line you can call and text from. AIVA is the other fork: an AI receptionist trained on a nail menu that picks up while hands are wet and writes the chair. We do not claim feature parity with Mangomint’s calendar, POS, payroll, marketing, inventory, or Phone suite. If you want their full platform, keep paying them. If you want the published number answered and the gel written, that is this page.
What an AI phone receptionist does that a booking page cannot
A Mangomint booking link waits for a tap. An AI receptionist answers the number you already print on Google, Instagram, and the door. How that loop works in plain English is on how do AI receptionists work. On a nail floor the loop has to sound like the shop:
- Pick up the published number. Forward it. The caller does not learn a new line.
- Talk the menu. Gel vs dip. Fill vs full set. Acrylic. Pedi. “After 5.” “With Mai.” A generic scheduler that only hears “an appointment” fails here.
- Write a real chair. If Tuesday at 11 is open for that service and that tech, it books. If it is not, it offers the next true hole — not a ghost slot.
- Text the confirmation. Voice closes the call. SMS puts the time on the client’s phone. You see it when you look up from the lamp.
That is the job owners actually want when “mangomint booking” still leaves Saturday empty. The booking page can stay. The phone has to finish the booking.
Keep Mangomint (or Setmore / Vagaro / Booksy). Add the phone layer.
| Job | Mangomint (live page) | AIVA |
|---|---|---|
| Public booking page, staff calendars, POS | That is the product — Users $120/mo + $10/user as they publish it | Has its own staff calendar. Not sold as a Mangomint clone |
| Per-user subscription | Yes — base plus $10 per profile (staff / front desk) | No. Unlimited staff on a one-time plan |
| Shop line answered mid-fill | Not the booking page. Phone add-on is $70/mo per line for call/text from one number | Yes — 24/7 AI voice on a dedicated number |
| Book gel / dip / fill / acrylic from the call | Caller would use the booking page or a person on the floor | Yes — menu-trained, writes the chair, SMS after |
| Native two-way sync into Mangomint | — | We do not claim this. Honest stack. |
| Plan price (our live page, same date) | See table above — monthly base + users + add-ons | $200 one-time, no monthly plan fee |
Checkout can stay on Mangomint, Setmore, Vagaro, Booksy, or whatever register already closes the ticket. AIVA sits next to that stack. We do not ask you to migrate the book to fix the line that rings mid-fill. Same “keep the POS” angle: keep your nail salon POS. Wider name map: nail salon software comparison.
Bukkii AIVA: $200 one-time, not another per-user calendar
From bukkii.ai/pricing (September 17, 2026):
- $200 one-time. No monthly plan fee. No contract. Unlimited staff.
- Dedicated number, AIVA train on your menu and policies, calendar setup, forwarding, 100 voice minutes, 1,500 SMS.
- Then pay-as-you-go: $0.35/min voice, $0.035 SMS. Packs never expire — voice 100 / $35, 250 / $80, 500 / $140, 1,000 / $249; SMS 500 / $17.50, 2,000 / $64, 5,000 / $140, 10,000 / $250.
- No free trial. Live in about five minutes. CTA on that page: Get AIVA — $200. Register or call (215) 791-6766 and hear her.
A 6-tech shop on Mangomint is billed $120 base plus $10 per user, every month, for the calendar and POS — plus $70/mo per line if you add their Phone. That can be the right buy for the book and the register. It is the wrong meter for “someone pick up while I finish this set.” AIVA is the $200 phone layer for that sentence. Full breakdown lives on pricing.
When to keep shopping calendars — and when to stop
Keep shopping Mangomint, or a Setmore / Vagaro / Booksy-class book, if the hole is the register, inventory, payroll, or the public booking page. Those tools earn their keep on checkout and the book. Switch the search when the hole is the missed call: Saturday at 8:40 pm, the third ring during a fill, the Monday refill that walked to the shop next door. That is not a Mangomint pricing problem. That is a receptionist problem.
AIVA does not replace a front-desk person who greets walk-ins and runs the drawer. She replaces the voicemail that never books. If your techs already live in Mangomint, leave them there. Forward the published number. Let the AI write the chair. You stay in the set.
A Saturday that used to leak
Picture the book at 2 pm. Four chairs full. Tina is 40 minutes into a fill. The Google number rings. The caller wants a gel with Tina on Monday after work. Nobody can pick up without ruining the set in front of them. The booking page is live — Mangomint is doing its job — but this person called. They will not open a link from a ringing phone. They will tap the next result.
With AIVA on the forward, that call becomes a Monday chair and an SMS. Tina never looks up. You did not migrate the floor off Mangomint to get that outcome. You paid $200 once for the layer the calendar never was. That is the whole compare: Mangomint vs an AI phone receptionist that books, not Mangomint vs a clone of Mangomint.
FAQ
Is AIVA a Mangomint alternative for nail salons?
Only for the phone. AIVA is not a rip-and-replace Mangomint calendar or POS. Keep Mangomint (or Setmore, Vagaro, or Booksy) as the booking page and register. AIVA answers the shop line, books gel, dip, fill, or acrylic on a live staff calendar, and texts the appointment. We do not claim native two-way sync into Mangomint.
What is Mangomint pricing on the live page?
Fetched from mangomint.com/pricing on September 17, 2026: Users are $120/mo base + $10 per user. Phone is $70/mo per line. Payroll is $50/mo + $8 per worker. Marketing starts at $30/mo. Extra locations are $120/mo each. In-person payments 2.45% + 15¢; virtual 2.90% + 30¢. No contracts. A free trial is available — that is Mangomint’s policy, not ours. Mangomint defines a user as anyone with a profile, including staff and front desk.
Is Mangomint Phone the same as AIVA?
No. Mangomint Phone is a $70/mo-per-line add-on they describe as call and text from one number on any device. AIVA is $200 one-time for answering the shop line and booking the chair. We do not claim feature parity with Mangomint’s full suite — calendar, POS, payroll, marketing, or inventory stay theirs.
Do I have to replace Mangomint, Setmore, Vagaro, or Booksy?
No. Keep the booking and POS calendar you already run. AIVA is the phone and SMS layer that answers while hands are wet and writes the chair. Checkout can stay where techs already close the ticket.
Does AIVA sync two-way into Mangomint?
No. We do not claim a native two-way sync into Mangomint. AIVA books on the Bukkii staff calendar and texts the client. You keep Mangomint for the public booking page and the register. That is an honest stack, not a rip of their salon booking software.
