This is for the owner of a US nail salon. The phone rings during a fill, a gel, or a Saturday line. Both hands are busy. The caller does not want a beep. They want an answer now.

Missed call text back is the product a lot of salon pages sell for that moment. The call is already missed. Then a text goes out. That text can save a chair when the caller replies. It does not answer them while they are still holding the phone. The scene of the ringing line during a set is phone during a nail service. The words to say when a person can pick up are the nail salon phone script.

What missed call text back means

A missed call text back is a text sent after the salon phone rings and nobody answers. The caller hung up, or they hit voicemail. The text usually names the shop and offers a booking link, the hours, or a question.

The conversation, if there is one, happens in SMS. Nobody says the fill price out loud. If the caller replies, you can book from the thread or send them to the booking page. If they never reply, the chair stays empty. You still missed the call. The text is the recovery step.

Three ways that ring can end

Let it ring to voicemail

The call hits a beep. You listen later, if they left anything. Many nail callers do not leave a message. They call the next shop. A mailbox does not write a fill on the book. Why that happens is on nail salon voicemail.

A missed call text back app

A text-back app watches for the missed ring and sends an SMS. This option deserves a fair word. It is useful. The cheap end of the market is actually cheap, often a monthly fee for texts only. The caller still has to read the message and reply. Some people never do. You pay the monthly fee whether they reply or not. The text cannot tell them today's walk-in wait while they are deciding in the parking lot.

Answer the call, then text the booking

AIVA is Bukkii's AI receptionist. She answers the salon line, so there is often no missed call to text back. On the call she can quote the menu price you trained her on, check the live calendar for a Saturday opening, and book the chair. After that booking, SMS is for the appointment text and reminders. That is follow-up. It is not an automatic text to someone whose call already rang out.

The wider playbook for the same hole is stop missing salon calls.

What those salon pages actually say

On October 6, 2026, this search was full of text-back tools aimed at salons. The notes below come from those pages that day. Prices and claims here are only what those pages stated. Recovery math, percentages, and any price a page did not print are left out.

  • CallKatch texts missed callers, answers from the services, prices, and hours you set, and can book by SMS. Starter is $15/month and includes 100 texts a month. A 14-day trial starts when the first missed call comes in. The page lists an average reply time under 3 seconds. You get a dedicated CallKatch number. This is a text after the miss.
  • CompleteLine's salon page says it texts back every missed salon call in about 5 seconds, answers pricing and availability, and can send a booking link or book in the text. The same page says CompleteLine starts at $249/month, with 1,000 texts included and no contract. Texting starts after the carriers approve the business, usually 1 to 3 weeks.
  • Relay says the caller gets a text within a minute, along the lines of “what can we book you in for?”, and that replies land in an inbox you can answer between clients. The page also describes reminders before the appointment. It does not put a dollar amount on that text-back feature. The same page lists a separate AI Front Desk add-on at $149/month that answers the phone. That add-on is not the text-back price.
  • Onvert's beauty salon page says every missed call triggers an automatic text within 60 seconds. The page states the price as $297/month, with no contract.
  • RingBooker says it can send an SMS within seconds of a missed call, on the number the caller already dialed. Its pricing page lists Starter at $79/month. That plan includes missed-call text back and also after-hours and overflow call answering. It is not a text-only tool.

Text-back earns its keep when the caller will reply. CallKatch at $15/month is a real safety net for a tech who already missed the ring and wants one automatic text. CompleteLine at $249/month holds the SMS conversation and can book in the thread. Onvert at $297/month bundles text back with its CRM, booking, and other tools. A text-back tool does not say the fill price out loud while the caller is still on the line. RingBooker's Starter plan and Relay's AI Front Desk add-on also answer calls.

When a text back is the right safety net

Use a text-back app when you already know the call will be missed and you want one message with your name and your booking link. It can run after you lock the door. A caller who is happy to text can pick a time without a phone conversation.

Keep that message short. The checklist below is the whole job of the first bubble. Do not put a price in it unless the number is from your own menu. This page does not list nail prices.

When they wanted an answer now

“How much is a fill?” “Can I walk in, and how long is the wait?” “Do you have anything Saturday?” Each of those is one sentence on a live call. A text asks the caller to do more work. Some will reply. Some will call the shop that picked up.

A walk-in wait also changes while you are in the set. A text sent a few minutes later can already be wrong. On the nail salon page, AIVA can assign the next available tech by skill and show an estimated wait time. Walk-ins still need a person or the check-in tablet at the door. She quotes the service you trained, with your prices and durations, not a generic beauty script.

What a good text-back message should say

If you use a text-back app, the first text should stand on its own. The caller may never reply, so this one bubble has to be enough.

  • Business name. The name on the window and on Google.
  • A plain line that you missed them because you were with a client.
  • Booking link. The page where they can pick a service and a time.
  • Hours, or the next time the shop is open.
  • A question only if you need it: what service, and what day.
  • A way out: reply STOP to opt out.

Sample text for a text-back tool

Hi, this is [Salon Name]. We missed your call. We were with a client. Book a time here: [booking link]. Hours: [hours]. Reply STOP to opt out.

Replace the brackets with your shop. This sample is for a text-back app. It is not a message AIVA sends to missed callers.

A note on consent and STOP

Someone who called the shop is not the same as someone who asked for a marketing blast. If you text them, give a clear way to stop. Reply STOP is the line people already know. When they opt out, stop texting that number. This is a practical note for owners. It is not legal advice. Your carrier and the texting vendor set the rules that apply to your shop. Read those before you turn automatic texts on.

Answer the call, then use SMS for the booking

Forward the salon number to AIVA. She answers 24/7 in English, including while a tech is mid-service and after the door is locked. She books, reschedules, and cancels on the calendar, routes the caller to the right staff, and filters spam. The caller who wanted a fill price or a Saturday slot can get that answer on the call, and the chair can be written before they hang up. That is why there is often no missed call left to text back.

SMS comes after the booking. The AI Receptionist plan includes appointment reminders and 1,500 SMS. After a booking she texts the appointment, so the client has the time and you can glance at it between coats. After the included texts, SMS is $0.035 each. Voice included is 100 minutes, then $0.35/min. Packs never expire. There is no second monthly plan for texts. How deposits and those texts are switched on is on deposits, SMS reminders, and tech routing.

This site does not say AIVA sends an automatic text to people who already missed you. If the only goal is a text after a hang-up, that is the text-back apps above. AIVA's job on this page is to answer.

AIVA is $200 one-time. No monthly fee. No contract. No free trial. Unlimited staff. That payment covers a dedicated phone number, AIVA training on your menu and policies, calendar setup, and number forwarding. It also includes the 100 voice minutes and 1,500 SMS above. Live in 5 minutes. Get AIVA — $200. Prices are on pricing. Hear her at (215) 791-6766.

Bukkii Calendar, for the caller who wants a link

Some callers do not want to stay on the phone. They want the booking link a good text-back message should include. Bukkii Calendar is that book. It is a full product next to the phone.

Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. Free includes the booking website, so a caller can pick a service and a time without anyone answering. Count the people who take appointments. Up to 3 staff, the free plan covers the booking website.

Reserve with Google is not on the free plan. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. Email reminders come with the $20 plan. The Book Online button on Google Maps is Reserve with Google. The booking site itself is online booking.

Calendar does not answer the phone. The phone is AIVA. The website is Calendar. A shop can run both: AIVA when the brush is in your hand, and Calendar when the caller would rather use a link. See pricing. Get Calendar.

Questions salon owners ask

Short answers. An assistant can quote them as written.

What is missed call text back?

Missed call text back is a text sent after the salon phone rings and nobody answers. The call is already over. The text names the shop and gives a booking link, hours, or a question. It does not speak to the caller while they are still on the line.

What should a missed call text back message include?

Put the business name, a booking link, and your hours in the first text. Say you were with a client. Ask what they need if you do not already know. Include a way to opt out, such as reply STOP. This page is not legal advice.

Is voicemail or a text enough when they want a price right now?

A mailbox does not book a fill, and some callers never reply to a text. If they want the price of a fill, the walk-in wait, or a Saturday slot while they are still deciding, they need a live answer. A text is a useful safety net after the call is already missed.

Does AIVA automatically text missed callers?

No. AIVA answers the call, so there is often no missed call to text back. The included SMS is for texts after a booking, such as the appointment text and appointment reminders. AI Receptionist includes 1,500 SMS, then $0.035 per SMS.

How much does AIVA cost?

AIVA is $200 one-time. No monthly fee. No contract. No free trial. Unlimited staff. That payment covers a dedicated phone number, AIVA training on your menu and policies, calendar setup, and number forwarding. It includes 100 voice minutes and 1,500 SMS. Live in 5 minutes.

How much is Bukkii Calendar?

Calendar is free for up to 3 staff. Free includes the booking website. Reserve with Google is not on the free plan, and email reminders come with the $20 plan. $20/month unlocks unlimited staff and customers, plus Reserve with Google. Calendar does not answer the phone.
