Three bills people mix up
- A hired receptionist. Wages, taxes, and the hours you staff — including nights if you want those calls. We do not print a national wage.
- A virtual receptionist or answering service. Usually a monthly plan: calls, minutes, or a booking add-on. If they only take a message, the calendar does not move.
- An AI receptionist that books. Software answers and writes the chair. The price model still varies by vendor. Bukkii’s model is one-time plus usage, not a monthly plan fee.

What to compare, if you compare at all
Ask whether the bill is a monthly plan fee, a one-time payment, or a meter that starts after a bucket of minutes. Ask whether “booking” is included or an add-on you have not opened. Ask whether the product answers the shop number or only hosts a link the caller has to tap.
